Back-to-School Lunch Planning in Lebanon
By the Mahabati team2 min read
Plan school lunches and meals at home without rushing every morning. A practical guide for families in Lebanon.

Back to school means earlier starts, packed bags and more meals to organise. It helps to separate two jobs: the lunch children take to school and the meal everyone needs when they get home.
Start with the school timetable
Check when children leave, when they eat and whether the school has refrigeration or reheating facilities. A meal delivered during the morning may arrive after they have left. Mahabati’s morning delivery window is 10am–12pm, so confirm timing before relying on it for a school lunch.
Keep the packed lunch familiar
Ask your child which foods they enjoy and what is easy to eat during the break. Choose a few options you can repeat through the week. Check the school’s ingredient and allergy rules before packing food for the classroom.
Plan how food will stay cold or hot
Food storage matters as much as preparation. The USDA’s packed-lunch guidance recommends an insulated bag with at least two cold sources for perishable cold foods. Check the guidance for hot lunches too.
Make the after-school meal easier
You might enjoy preparing lunchboxes but want help with meals at home. A meal plan can cover selected days instead of every meal for everyone. Check how many portions you need; an individual plan should not be assumed to feed a whole family.
